Mélas Cormier, 92, of Résidence du Marais and formerly of Belliveau Village, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital after a sudden illness.

Mélas Cormier Born in Pré-d'en-Haut, NB on October 29, 1910, he was the son of the late Willie Cormier and Jeanne LeBlanc of Pré-d'en-Haut. He worked for Co-op Feed in Moncton for 20 years.

He is survived by one son, Ronald (Geraldine) Cormier of Beaumont; two step daughters, Lauretta Boudreau of Grand Barachois, Aldéa Leblanc of Moncton; two step sons, Normand (Rose) Landry of Grand Barachois, Laurie (Betty) Landry of Bancroft, ON; one sister, Marie-Louise (Paul-Emile) Belliveau of Pré-d'en-Haut; two brothers, Laurie and Léo-Paul (Marie) Cormier, both of Moncton; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; 19 step grandchildren; 28 step great grandchildren; 13 step great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Eva Richard; second wife, Adelia Landry; three sisters, Amanda, Jeanita, Dorilla; four brothers, Amédée, Dominique, Alyre, Yvon; one step daughter, Bertha LeBlanc; two stepsons, Rhéal, Hervé.


Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home Ltd. with Funeral Mass to be held at Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut on Thursday, April 17, 2003 at 11:00 am. Interment in parish cemetery.
